New Year

2009

I have to say 2009 was a good year for me. I had my first baby and was pregnant for most of the time ( I love being pregnant) . I have to go back to work 1/11 and I am dreading it. I really have enjoyed being home with my little cupcake. He is so wonderful and today I realized it is like forever ...I mean him being in daycare and me working I wish it was like school and had the time off with him. I wanted to write a few resolutions down so I could look back: 1. smile more complain less 2. get into my prebaby weight and look like a rock star ( 10lbs to g0) 3. Spend less time on the computer and more time with fam and friends. I on facebook a lot, email , etc.. 4. Be a better wife to my husband, I mean it hard with the baby and want to make sure he knows I love him and appreciate him to death. No plans NYE except Thai food movies and cuddling by the fire.

Real Housewives of OC

Anyone watch this show? I love this show and watch them all . I have to confess I did not watch the first couple seasons of the OC but I am faithful to all of the ( NY New Jersey and Atlantic) I really do not like Tamra and like Gretchen . I think Tamra and Vicki are mean . Can not wait to see what happens with the new girl

Sorry have not been posting trying to get use to a routine. Not much sleep but he is worth it.

Waiting ..

No baby yet. yesterday was my due date . Last Thurs I went to the docs and I was 4cmm dilated and we were hoping this weekend. I am trying to stay positive . I was crabby yesterday the calls, texts, and emails no baby I want to scream I want this more than anyone . I have no control I am anxious, excited, 40 weeks of prep, the anticipation is killing me. I have tried everything - sex, walking, eggplant, bouncing on a ball, walking up stairs and nothing. Tomorrow afternoon I have a docs appt . and maybe I get more information . I am still working which is everyone like " your still here" ???? Yes I am no baby .... every day every night I think this could be it???

Almost there

A couple more weeks until baby T makes his appearance. So many things run through my head. I am very excited and nervous. I worry about my baby now ( my toy poodle ) Chelsea that things will never be the same. Even with my husband things will chnage. I saw this recipe to the left and we always go apple picking very year and not sure if we will get to be fore the baby is born?

baby shower Etiquette

Yesterday was my baby shower and it was amazing . I was so freaked out before hand and it can overwhelming opening gifts in front of so many people. I had my best friend and husband beside me . I can not express my gratitude for all the nice gifts and things people did for me. My mom and mother in law were wonderful. It looked so cute. We got everything we needed and more.
So here is my question a couple people never showed up and never called. What is strange is one of these people asked to come when I told her I was pregnant the other is my hairdresser who I became friends with and just attended her Greek wedding a couple months ago. Do you confront them or ignore it? I feel very hurt by it . Any suggestions , advice thoughts? similar experience?

warning do not cut your hair while you are 34 weeks pregnant

I HATE it! I have growing my hair out for the past 3 -4 months this summer for a super cute cut I found in a mag. I showed it to my hairdresser and it seems like she never listens to me and last night I cried 4 hours straight. I guess you can say this 5 year relationship is over . As I mentioned in a previous post I always have the early "90's" Rachael green from friends haircut and what I really want is LONG blond layers which is a little more in style. Now I have reddish , brown blond short layers. I am so disappointed I was looking forward to looking cute at my shower and just feeling good . I never realized how important hair can be so I guess if you find a good cut and color stick with it always be safe and sorry. Oh yeah make sure you get want you want not the hairdresser is in the mood to do to you.

Sip and See???

Sip and See:{By the way, a Sip and See is a get-together after a baby is born to "sip" on refreshments and "see" the baby. I had never It's a cute concept...} I am thinking about one when the baby is born because I am so organized and would rather have people come all at once than random stopbys. I am a Private person and really looking forward to bonding with the baby and have heard people over stay there welcome and never leave. This subject has been bothering me for months. I even considered a note on the door - visiting hours on Sundays from 1-3 . My Husband is too nice to tell anyone to leave. Don't get me wrong there are certain people I love to have around and feel so comfortable with but I heard that random people come out of the wood work and want to hold your baby for hours. Talking about this my MIL is a OBSESSED with baby's and every fam party I have been to she runs around and grabs everyone and holds them for hours. I know we will be struggling with this .. Any one been to a sip and see? Anyone have a MIL who is baby crazy? Any suggestions or advice??

The Secret of NIMH

The other day I was thinking about this movie and how much I loved it - especially at the end when the crows are playing with the yarn . It made me so happy . I loved Mrs. Brisby and she was a single mom to help her son Tim. She is brave and will do anything for her family. It was an amazing story and I will always remember it.

Talking about movies.. next weekend the time travelers wife comes out and I have to say it was one of the best books I have EVER read. I was surprised when the came out with the movie and hoping it is just as good.

So happy it is Friday looking forward to the weekend !!

New Car?

There has been so much on the news about cash for clunkers on TV lately and since we need a new car I really want this Nissan Murano . I have been driving Saabs my entire life and my DH has an old truck that is only a two seater so we can not have the baby in it because it is illegal .

I thought I would NEVER drive a SUV but since I am going to be a mom very soon I thought for safety in the snow and having the extra room it would be perfect. I am sure we can not afford a new car ( both of ours are already paid for) but I think we are going to look . Any one have one or any thoughts or advice ???

Facebook

I do enjoy facebook but there are a couple types of people on there that drive me crazy. First the complainers . I can not stand everyday an update on how much something sucks . example - work, sickness , etc. It brings me down. Please keep it to your self. The second is the attentions whores. One person in particular is also expecting the same time I am and has to document every day with pictures. Don't get me wrong it I love looking at pics and seeing how other people are doing through blogs and facebook but she is way over the top. Also when some one post like 180 pics of one event. 20-40 we get the idea but after a while it some one over and over again. I guess there are always are going to be people in our lives that that things to the extreme. Facebook is a great way I can connect with fam., high school friends , people who moved away . It is a great tool but I had to vent.

Stroller Help

So I really really want the bugaboo frog stroller in Navy but it is over $700- I asked my mom for it as a present and she thinks it is way too much. Plus everyone has been telling her how ridiculous it is. This weekend my fav manager at J crew suggested the Bumbleride and I think I am in LOVE . I want the rider in Seagrass. I did some research and called to ask some questions. My husband and I watched the vidoes. Does any one have one ? Any one have any recommendations??

Weather in New England

To Whom this may concern,
Please bring summer to us. It has been cold and raining for months. We are all dying to go to the beach and enjoy the outside because we are cooped up all winter and spring. Please not too hot because I am very pregnant but I have all these cute maternity dressed that I can wear . I miss you summer....

How much do you love her? She always looks wonderful and her style tends to be classic. I hope post baby I can work to have a body like hers. I am not worrying about it to much even though my doc said I need to slow down with the eating today.. I know but I have been treating myself lately. How could you not love her???

Summer time

I love the summer and since it is my first being pregnant I decided that I would wear a bikini. I have not bought any news hoping and praying my old one still fit but as I get bigger I may need to break down and send the money. I remember when I was little we were spending the week at my mom's BF cottage and a friend was pregnant and was wearing her bikini and I was amazed and loved it.

That is something that will ALWAYS stick with me and I don't know why. I think Tori looks amazing and read she got a lot of slack for posing for this photo but I say "ROCK ON "

Monkey See Moneky DO

Nursery's ... One of my fav thing to do is to look at what other new mom's are doing. After thinking and thinking about this we decided after finding out that we are having a boy to do a monkey theme. The one thing is of course PBK is not longer carrying the crib bedding I want . Is that always the way? We chose the espresso crib and changing table. My husband made me a book shelve and I am only 21 weeks the nursery is coming together fast. We painted the walls a misty blue which came out nice and I think is calming.

We are having a hard time with names and as I mentioned before we are planning on keeping it a surprise until the baby is born . Many people who are our fam and friends do not hold back with there opinions. Somehting my husband really wants is to name our baby after him which I HATE JRS. but he said we could name the baby his name and I pick the middle and we call the baby the middle name. Do you think that is confusing ?

Anyone watch the season finale last night?? First how many times can Hedi say "princess" and she did wear to many jewels and I thought she looked tacky and would tell her as a friend. Second I will still watch but really not a big fan of Kristen's. She was saying how she would never do reality TV hay how was that working for you?? Plus the bartender Stacy being there? You think she just wanted to be on TV? Just my thoughts.. let me know what you thought

The show reflects the creepy relationship between Brooke and her father. He wants to be with her a little too much. ... Any thoughts???

Derby

Not sure about you but something on my "bucket list" is going to the Kentucky Derby. It all started 6 years ago while I was in Las Vegas and we watched the races. It was amazing and I was hooked. Every year I enjoy it so much . My husband promised me he would take me . I love the style and the big hats. I put money on Choc. candy this year . Maybe next year we can do a party and make mint jubilees?

How do you stop pesky in-laws from coming over?

We got married in Sept 08 and we bought a house in late Nov 08 and we are having a baby Oct 09 so we have had a busy year. I am an issue with my inlaws. They are coming over EVERY weekend with out calling. Last weekend it was 3x and the straw that broke the camels back was they don't knock or ring the door bell they just walk in. It has been bothering me for months and it always ends with me and DH fighting. I am not sure what to do but this has to end before the baby is born. I have asked my husband to ask them but he refuse. Last night I have been thinking about it all week and finally asked him nicely for his support that I was going to speak to them. He blew up and said they will hate me and never stop by . The thing is I could ask my fam and they would be okay with that. I am a private person and I am starting to resent them which is not good. I pull away and don't want to see them or talk to them.. HELP
Any one have this issue ? Any advice?

April showers - Spring in New England

I love spring clothes and I love the warm sunshine - It makes my day .. It is a hard time of year because it not warm enough for sandals but seems late to wear boots. There is no spring in New England , Every year people pull out there sweaters in May and then utter " When will summer be here?" and "Spring"? What Spring? Summer arrives full force sometime in June over night.. It rains alot and can be cold one day and warm the other. I am never sure when to make the switch from the seasons. I am enjoying the flowers blooming and the green grass. The season of graduations , wedding and baby showers, cookouts are upon us . I love getting all dressed up and having yummy food .

Little bo peep ?

This weekend we decided on this for the baby room. We just love it. It still early but we like it because it can be reused if we have a second child. We are going to find out the sex of the baby but this room can go with either boy or girl . We got new furniture for our room this weekend and will move out to start working on the nursery. I am so excited and can not wait to see it all come together. I have been researching gliders vs. rocking chairs. , strollers (I really want a Bugaboo Stroller) , I also want a juicy couture diaper bag in brown. My wish list I guess I should start saving...

I am so thrilled about this new book !! I can not wait to get it. I am Tori biggest fan. Growing up watching 90210 I did not LOVE her but after watching her new show " Tori and Dean INN love " she was super funny. Also I really liked her new book and after reading it made me really like her more. I really looking forward to reading this . She is a silly girl

Baby Names

Since sharing our excitement with the world that we are expecting in Oct. we have come across the same questions : Will you find out the sex of the baby? And have you thought of any names yet and what are they? I made the mistake of sharing some of ideas and became very hurt and defensive. Most people want to tell you what they like and dislike. They want to share they stories of who it reminds them of and names they really like. That alone has turned me off to a couple names. Plus the fact is say some tells you how weird a name is and then you go ahead with it in the back of your mind you know how the person really feels. I feel that is a decision that the parents make together with out any one else influence. Not our parents, siblings, friends or co-workers. Not sure why people can not simply say " wow what ever you name you decided sounds amazing"

Well my husband and I have decided to keep it a secret until the baby is born so when people ask and press I simply replay " it will be a surprise " .

Bad Girls

The Bad girls club is one of my fav shows I hate to admit but I do not miss an episode. Last night was the Reunion show that Prez Hilton hosted and I have to say he is pretty funny and made the show. Anyways .. after watching the season in horror I need to comment on my thoughts. There was 7 girls in the house : the fab five vs. the Amber's. I really liked the Amber's especially cookie . They were cute girls while the others seemed trashy, fat and mean . The one girl called her self " Boston" and I was embarrassed that she represented the city for me and come to find out she is from North of Boston. Wow!! Plus all the girls went to Mexico and the jumped Amber and then bragged about it. I guess I like it because there is so much drama. I try not to create or get involved in real life drama because I know the effects and it can draw you in quickly so that is why I save it and enjoy watching it on T.V. Hopefully Oxygen will come out with a season 4 !!!

Bunny Cupcakes

These look soo yummy .. I am going to make them for Easter.

Here is the recipe :

1 box Betty Crocker® SuperMoist® yellow or white cake mix
Water, vegetable oil and eggs called for on cake mix box
Pink food color
2 containers Betty Crocker® Whipped fluffy white frosting
5 large marshmallows
Pink sugar
Candy decorations and sprinkles, as desired

1.Heat oven to 350°F (325°F for dark or nonstick pans). Make and cool cake as directed on box for 24 cupcakes.
2.Stir a few drops pink food color into 1 container of frosting. Frost cupcakes with pink frosting.
3.Spoon 1 heaping teaspoonful white frosting on center of each cupcake. To make ears, cut each large marshmallow crosswise into 5 pieces with kitchen scissors. Using scissors, cut through center of each marshmallow piece to within 1/4 inch of edge. Separate to look like bunny ears; press 1 side of cut edges into pink sugar, flattening slightly. Arrange on each of the white frosting mounds as shown. Use candy decorations and sprinkles to make eyes, nose and whiskers as shown. Store loosely covered.

Trader Joes

I LOVE trader Joe's but since I have trying to save M$oney I have not been there in a while but I was able to go this week and I got the best things. I got some daffodils that have bloomed and make my house feel like spring , some choc covered almonds( my fav), almonds, and much more. I wish there was one closer and I would do all my shopping there. The people there are so nice . Have any one been there ? Any thoughts? Since I have been pregnant all I can think about is food and what I can eat. It gives me something to look forward to. So happy it is the weekend...

Crazy week .. T.G.I.F It is Friday the 13Th and there was a full moon Wed. I noticed lately people left the house with out there manners. I have seen so many people yak away on there cell phones and not even noticing what is going on around them. This week two different times people slammed the door on me while going in to work .

The quote is about not letting others effect you and I am working on that. I am the only person who can make "me" happy. Also looking at what I have instead of what I don't have is important too. Being grateful. ..

Baby

We are having a baby !!! I am due Oct 11th and wanted to share the good news. Mr T and I are super happy. It still is early and I have not told anyone at work just fam and good friends. The greatest thing is my BF and I got married 2 weeks apart and we were in each other weddings and now we are having babies 4 months apart. It is wonderful to have her to talk to her about everything. I am not sure what it is ... most people seem to think it is a boy ( including DR) but I think it is a girl .

Batchelor

Did any one happen to watch this final last night? I have been following it because Gossip Girl has not been on for the past month :( . I really like Jason and I read a lot of other people did too because he was a single dad and he did get dumped . I am not a big fan of him now. I love how he dumped poor Melissa because he wanted Molly . Now if I was Molly I would not run right back into his arms because I would not be able to trust him. I do forget some times that people do sign up for this and know what they are getting themselves into but still it seem cruel. I do hope that next season they have a show for Melissa.

My husband gets super embarrassed when he watches it for a second and of course it was when Jason was crying last night. Did any one else watch this? Please I would love to know what you though..

Spring

10 more days till daylight savings !!! Yeah!! I am so looking forward to the spring. I live in New England where it tends to be cold up until about May or late June and then it is hot. I feel like when I was little we always had warm Easters. I see pics of me and my cousins with our little Easter bonnets and dresses running around looking for eggs at our annual egg hunt. Spring clothes can be funny in New England because you not sure when to get rid of your jackets ,boots and sweaters and make the transition. I get so excited about seeing the grass growing, trees blooming and the flowers.

Haircut

I got my haircut and colored last night . I really like the color ( more blonder) but the cut reassembles Jennifer aka Rachael Green early 1994 due. I am a little embarrassed. My new hair cut looks the same as the pictures. I guess I have to wait to grow it out or try curling it.. ..
